In light of America turning 250 years old on July 4th I write this blog.
As a jounger person ,like below forty years old, you will not understand this
"Encourage Blog". But for us that lived in what will be defined as "the good ole days" will see how much our beloved America has changed.
I was raised in the 50's and 60's. In the America I love.
It's funny how even some in their 40's say, " your rent was how much a month? $50.00, I can't believe that. And gas was 21 cents a gallon, there was such things as penny candy, and nickel bottle soda pop.?
Yes, I lived in those days. And to be truthful I'm not sure that I wouldn't love to go back to those days.
As children there was " unstructed Freedom". Our parents told us to go outside and play, we structured the games we played, no electric toys, we rode our bikes with no fear of a kidnapping, or crulty happening. We got in by dark.
There was deep community connection: Neighbors had a close knit feel, shop owners knew our names. Socializing was " Face to face" how rare is that?
God bless America was sung in school as well as the pledge to the flag, as some got to put the flag up on the big outside flag pole.
Now...America, the land that I love is so different. Technology has sprung up in ever area. Some is very helpful, some is needed as we grew, but like all things, it took a turn in the immoral direction .
The flustration of taking care of everyday chores have become diffcult. Call the company, get a mobile voice punch the right connection, pray you don't get cut off, or have to start the process all over again.
Lock your doors, have cameras surrounding your home, checking for best prices, make decisions that you never had to deal with in the " good ole days".
I had a very poor childhood as my memior book relates, "My Christian Journey Through a Fallen World". But, I still remember morals were never as they have become. And when someone tries to do something about them, they get blasted with hate and cruel remarks.
I know the world has to grow with technology, but the America I knew and loved could still be that feeling of proud to be an American, to call my land , the land of the free and the brave. The God that we know, our Lord Jesus Christ to always be first in all we say and do. Will you help to bring back the America I love? Back to the God it was founded on.
