BEING CONTENT...IN A FALLEN WORLD.

Updated: Nov 23, 2021

The scene is set as the children ages three through ten lined up at the large mall store to get their chance to sit with Santa and give him their list of WANTS FOR CHRISTMAS!

Each child waiting impatiently for their turn. Some talk and tell the next one in line how they are wanting this new game, or how they need all these toys that they wanted.

The 3-year-old, just walking good and his eyes filled with great expectation could hardly wait to set on Santa's lap. He said, " I'm gonna ask for 100 toys."

Does this sound familiar to you my friends? That the children are just like we remain today. We seem to think we NEED so much to make us happy and content.

We always want a bigger house, a newer car, all the latest iPhones, all the gadgets that we say make our lives so much easier.

But, do they really? We strive to GET, GET, GET to find it didn't satisfy after all.

I love what this one little child did as he approached the Christmas scene, the big chair with the jolly old Santa setting with open arms to hear his Christmas gifts request.

As he climbed up on the lap of Santa, Santa ask:" now what do you want for Christmas"?

The little boy looked into Santa's eyes and said, " Santa, I have a lot of toys, I really don't need anything, I just wanted to ask you, " do you know Jesus as your Savior?"

Because Santa, that's why we celebrate Christmas. God sent His son, He was born in a barn, He was sent to be the one that went to the cross and died for the sins of the whole world. I know Him and He gives me all I ever need.

No doubt that Santa was teary-eyed as he looked back down at this little child full of wisdom and said," I've heard many times this gospel story, but as you told me again, I do want what you have my child. I will ask Jesus to be my Savior right now."

Friends, I'm here to tell you that ONLY JESUS can satisfy our souls. We see in Scripture

Philippians 4:11-12 that the apostle Paul had learned how to be content through all the struggles, heartaches he had gone through. And Hebrews 13:5 repeats, I will never leave you or forsake you. When we have Jesus, we have ALL we NEED!

Wanting one's: That's the way you stay content in this Fallen World. Letting Jesus be FIRST. If we would only learn that scripture also says, in Matthew 6:33 Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and ALL these things shall be added unto you.

For the King and His Kingdom,

Even Santa knows Christmas is Jesus and worshipped Him.
